Production
The 'Bag Man' Film was filmed on two different days. On the first day, we had to work well together because of the rain. We had to hold an umbrella over the camera and change the settings on the camera to create easily visible scenes. Using our list of shots, we recorded each shot multiple times to get enough smoothness on the movements and clarity. We filmed in two different locations; Mich's house and streets nearby and inside the college. By using multiple locations, we were able to make our film more interesting and realistic.
Post Production
After we finished filming our shots, we chose the best video out of multiple takes. The we started to line them up. We cropped clips to the length that we wanted and added transitions such as fades and wipes to make our film look smoother. We also cut the shot of handing the money over in half and put a close up shot in the middle. On some scenes we changed the lighting, such as the scene where the door opens, using key framing because the scene suddenly became dark. After arranging and editing the videos, we added a title to the beginning. We chose a font which looked like an old typewriter to create an eerie beginning. Then we added rolling credits to the end. Finally, we added some intense music to our clips and added sound effects such as a knocking and scream sound. We also added boom sounds on multiple occasions to keep the audience engaged.
Continuity
To keep continuity, we had to wear the same clothes on both filming days and make sure that the characters from earlier in the film weren't in the background later on. On some videos, we had to change the lighting in post production due to the weather changing on the days of filming.
A continuity error we could have improved was the bag size. In the story, there was meant to be a girl in the bag, however when the bag is being dragged, it looks too empty and small.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I think our group worked very well together and the end result of our film was successful. I love how our film turned out and how the sound effects match our shots perfectly.
